You cannot drink water from the tap, just drink mineralwater from the supermarket. All restaurants and bars use mineralwater from the supermarket, also for icecubes so you don't have to worry about infection.

The medical services in Sosua are very well, there is a first aid clinic close to the resort. Most of the doctors are educated in the United States or Europe and work in private clinics which can be compared to American and European hospitals. Almost every health insurance will compensate the costs for private clinics.
